Although the atmosphere at this sake-industry information center is rather utilitarian, they do offer sake tastings during the day, along with occasional special events. Tastings are just Y300, and give you a chance to try a few different types of sake and compare them.

There's also an enormous amount of reading material about sake, although it's almost entirely in Japanese. Videos showing the sake-brewing process are somewhat more accessible. Down in the basement there's an old-fashioned izakaya in case you want to continue your sake research over dinner.
